Briefly though, we collect data across 5 basic categories:
Experiment Description Data - We call each of your price recommendations a Price Experiment. This category of data includes items like (not exhaustive): data a price recommendation was implemented, what product was impacted, and the key financial metric you are impacting.
Transactional Data - We typically use 12-24 months of historical data. This category of data includes items like (not exhaustive): date of transaction, product name, and units sold.
Customer Data - This includes all the variables that might influence the financial impact that is outside of your Price Experiment (i.e confounders). This category of data includes items like (not exhaustive): customer segment, customer industry, and customer location.
Product Data - This includes all the variables that might influence the financial impact that is outside of your Price Experiment (i.e confounders). This category of data includes items like (not exhaustive): product name, product category, and list price.
Sales Team Data - This includes all the variables that might influence the financial impact that is outside of your Price Experiment (i.e confounders). This category of data includes items like (not exhaustive): sales rep tenure, sales rep quota attainment, sales rep tenure.
Other Data - This includes all the variables that might influence the financial impact that is outside of your Price Experiment (i.e confounders), but don’t fall neatly into one of the previous categories. This might include data that is bespoke to your situation.
